Tasks, docs and AI images

Drop live tasks and docs onto the canvas, turn a sticky note into a real task, and generate an image from a description.

A whiteboard isn't a separate island. Real work from your workspace can sit on the canvas, and ideas on the canvas can become real work.

Putting a task or doc on the board

Click Insert and pick a task or a doc. It lands on the canvas as a card.

The card is live. Someone changes the task's status in a project, and the card on your board shows the new status. Someone renames the doc, and the card follows. It's a window onto the real thing, not a copy that goes stale.

Good for a planning board where half the boxes are still ideas and half are already tasks people are working on.

Turning something on the board into a task

Sketched an idea worth doing? Select the shape, sticky note or text box, then choose Convert selection to task.

  1. Select one item that has some text on it β€” that text becomes the task title, and you can edit it before confirming.
  2. Pick the project the task should go into.
  3. Confirm.

The shape stays right where it is on the board and gains a link to the new task, so the board keeps reading as a board while the work moves into a project.

Two small rules: an item needs text before it can become a task (otherwise there's no title), and an item that's already linked to something can't be converted twice.

Generating an image

Click AI image, describe what you want, and the image appears on the canvas where you're looking.

"A watercolour city skyline at dusk, warm light, loose brush strokes"

You can choose the model, the shape of the image and how detailed it should be. The credit cost is shown before you generate, so you always know what an image will cost. It generates in the background β€” carry on drawing, and it drops onto the board when it's ready.

Useful for mood boards, placeholder art in a wireframe, or an illustration for a client presentation that you'd otherwise go hunting for.

Frequently asked questions

If I change a task on the board, does it change the real task?

The card on the board is a live view of the real task. Update the task anywhere in Kokar and the card catches up β€” it isn't a copy or a screenshot.

What happens to my shape when I convert it to a task?

It stays exactly where it is and gains a link to the new task. Nothing moves and nothing is deleted.

Do AI images cost anything?

They use AI credits, the same as anywhere else in Kokar. The dialog shows the cost before you generate, so there are no surprises.

Can someone on a public link generate an AI image?

No. People opening a board through a share link can draw, but they can't add images or generate them β€” that keeps your workspace's AI credits yours.
