Settings

One panel for two different things — the workspace everyone shares, and the account that is only yours.

Settings is a single panel with two halves, and knowing which half you are in explains most of what happens when you change something.

Opening it

Click your avatar in the top-right corner → Settings. The panel opens on General, and the rest of the pages are listed in the sidebar beside it.

Every page, and who sees it

Workspace

PageWho sees itWhat it is
GeneralEveryone (owners & admins edit)Workspace name, URL, logo, timezone
AutomationsEveryoneEvery rule on a location you can already read
MembersOwners & adminsInvite people, change roles, remove people
Roles & PermissionsOwners & adminsWhat each role can do workspace-wide
AttendanceOwners & adminsWorking weeks, holidays, quotas, per-member rules
Audit logsOwner only by default, EnterpriseA record of who did what
Billing & PlanOwner onlyPlan, renewals, payment history

Audit logs start closed even to admins. Out of the box the workspace owner is the only person the page appears for. An owner can switch it on for admins in Settings → Roles → Permissions, on the Audit log row.

There is no Archive page

Archived items are not collected on a settings page. They reappear where they were when you turn on Show archived — the next to the + in the Spaces section of the sidebar, or on the Docs tree. See archive and trash.

Trash is filed under My Account because, unless you are an owner or admin, it only ever contains things you deleted yourself — someone else's deleted task never appears in your Trash. For an owner or admin it does widen to the whole workspace.

Either way its contents belong to the workspace you are currently in — switch workspace and you see a different list.

Settings that live somewhere else

Not everything configurable is in this panel:

  • Light and dark mode — the sun/moon icon in the top bar.
  • Who can see one space, folder or project — the Share dialog on that item, not Roles & Permissions. Roles cover the workspace as a whole; sharing covers a single item. See spaces.
  • The working week, holidays and time-off quotas — Settings → Attendance, documented under attendance policies.
  • Plan and payment — Settings → Billing & Plan, documented under billing and plans.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open settings?

Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Settings. You land on General, with everything else in the sidebar next to it.

Why can I see a settings page but not change anything on it?

Some pages are readable by everyone and editable by owners and admins only — General is the main one. Pages you have no business seeing at all, like Members or Billing, don't appear in the sidebar in the first place.

I changed something and it applied everywhere. Is that expected?

It depends which half you were in. Anything under Workspace changes the workspace for everyone in it. Anything under My Account changes your own experience, in this workspace and every other one you belong to.

Where is the dark mode switch?

In the top bar, not in settings — the small sun/moon icon next to your avatar. It applies to your account only.
