Workspace settings
Name, URL, logo and timezone; inviting people; what each role can do; and the audit log.
The Workspace half of settings. Everything here belongs to the workspace rather than to you, so a change made here is a change everyone in it sees.
Most of these pages are owners-and-admins only. General is the exception: everyone can read it, and owners and admins can change it.
General
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Workspace logo | Shown across the app and in the workspace switcher |
| Workspace name | The display name |
| Workspace URL | The workspace's address. Changing it breaks existing links |
| Timezone | The workspace's own clock — see below |
| Workspace info | When it was created, and your role in it. Read-only |
Members can open this page and read it. Only owners and admins can change anything on it.
Timezone
Dates without a time on them — a due date of "3 August" — are interpreted in the workspace timezone, so the same deadline falls on the same day for everyone, wherever they are. Dates that do carry a time still show in each person's own local time.
Deleting the workspace
Owner only, at the bottom of General. Type the workspace name to confirm, and pick one of two:
- Scheduled (default) — the workspace disappears for everyone immediately, but the data is only destroyed after 30 days. Cancel any time in between.
- Immediate — gone at once, with no recovery.
Members
Invite people by email, see who is in the workspace, change someone's role, and remove people. Invitations that have not been accepted yet are listed separately, with who sent them, so you can chase or cancel one.
Roles & Permissions
Three roles ship with every workspace:
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control, including billing and deleting the workspace. Sees everything, including private items |
| Admin | Runs the workspace day to day — members, roles, attendance, and restoring archived or deleted items |
| Member | Normal access to the spaces and projects they have been given |
On Enterprise you can also create custom roles and choose their permissions one by one.
Roles are workspace-wide, sharing is per item
A role decides what someone can do across the workspace. It does not decide which spaces or projects they can open — that comes from the Share dialog on each item. An admin still cannot open a private space they were never added to; only the owner can.
The full picture — what each role can do, the four access levels, and who can do what in tasks, docs, dashboards, chat and attendance — is in Roles & permissions.
Audit logs
Enterprise only, and owner only to begin with. A record of significant actions in the workspace — who did it, to what, and when — so a change can be traced after the fact.
It records what happened inside private spaces too, which is why reading it is held closer than the rest of settings. Admins do not get it by default; an owner turns it on for them in Roles & Permissions, on the Audit log row.
On a plan below Enterprise nothing is recorded at all, so there is no back history waiting to appear if you upgrade later — the trail starts the day the plan does.
Attendance and billing
Both live in this half of settings and both have their own sections:
- Attendance — the working week, holidays, time-off quotas, office locations and per-member overrides. See attendance policies.
- Billing & Plan — owner only. See billing and plans.
Frequently asked questions
Who can change workspace settings?
Owners and admins. Members can open General and read it, but the fields are locked. Members and Roles don't appear for them at all, and Billing is owner-only.
Can I change the workspace URL after people have started using it?
Yes, but old links stop working the moment you do. Bookmarks, links pasted into chat and links in old emails all point at the previous address.
What does the workspace timezone actually control?
Dates that have no time attached — a due date of "3 August" is the 3rd in the workspace's timezone for everyone, so a deadline doesn't land on a different day for a colleague in another country.
Do custom roles exist on my plan?
Custom roles are Enterprise. Every plan has the three built-in ones — Owner, Admin and Member.
